Text: On Saturday, January 4 we took a trip to Ma Gok Sa, a Buddhist temple located between Chonan and Kong Ju. Our kitchen faucet started leaking the night before, so we had to wait for someone to come fix it before we could leave. We took a bus to Kong Ju first, and there boarded a smaller bus that bumped along a winding country road. The temple dates back to 640. Ma Gok means "flax valley." The four heavenly kings stand guard in a gate leading to the temple compound. |
