Sunchon Trip

Text: The first weekend in May we took a trip down to Sunchon and Gwang Yang, where Helena served the last five months of her mission. Children's Day (May 5), a national holiday, fell on Monday. We asked for Tuesday off as well, so we had a four-day weekend. We took a bus to Sunchon on Saturday (changing buses in Kwang Ju) and took a train back on Tuesday. We got a room in a yogwan near the church.

(page 2) We attended Sunchon branch on Sunday. We met a lot of people that Helena knew, including Sister Song Young Sook, who often invited the missionaries over and fed them vast amounts of curry rice. She asked us to come over for lunch on Tuesday before we left. Lunch included a side dish of tiny whole crabs. Sister Song's son Han Kyul informed us, "These are crabs." Helena asked, "How do you eat them?" and he replied, "With your teeth!"
