Puyo

Nak Hwa Am

Text: Saturday, July 19, we spent the day in Puyo and Nonsan. We knew that there was a lot to see in Puyo, which was once the capital of the Paekche kingdom, but we didn't know where anything was. Helena went into an LG appliance store to ask directions. The men there weren't doing anything else, so they drew a map and planned out a whole tour itinerary for us. Most of the sites of interest were located on a small mountain called Pu So San. At the foot of the mountain we met a young man who had ridden his bicycle from Taejon. He accompanied us to the other side.

We didn't have much time before leaving Korea, so we were trying to do as much as we could before we left. This was not a good time of year to be gallivanting all over the country. It was beastly hot.
